Diversity that enriches
At CityU, students from Engineering, Law, Medicine, Architecture, the Arts and dozens of other programs live side by side. That mix is no accident: it’s the perfect setting to broaden your perspective, build connections across disciplines and discover worlds your own department could never show you on its own.
Our residents come from more than 15 regions of Colombia, along with international exchange students from Europe, Latin America and Asia. Cultural diversity is part of CityU’s DNA.
"My best friends at CityU study things that are completely different from what I study. That mix is what makes the difference. You learn as much outside the classroom as you do inside it."
Events and activities all year round
CityU’s Community Life team puts together a yearly calendar of activities designed to bring residents together and enrich their college experience:
- Welcome Week for new residents every semester
- Food fairs and international culture nights
- Inter-residence sports tournaments (soccer, basketball, ping-pong)
- Movie nights, acoustic concerts and art exhibitions
- Soft-skills workshops: leadership, personal finance and well-being
- Group study nights with snacks and music
Spaces designed for connection
CityU’s common areas aren’t just hallways. They’re spaces intentionally designed to help connections happen: terraces overlooking the city, game rooms, coworking areas, a cozy café and indoor gardens where spontaneous moments take place.
Friendships here aren’t forced. They simply happen when you share breakfast, study at the same table or celebrate turning in a project up on the terrace.
The USense model: community with real support
Behind every event, tournament and group study night is USense, CityU’s resident experience and support model. The same team that runs community life also looks after each resident’s emotional well-being, with ongoing support, access to psychological care and mentoring for anyone who needs it.
That support team even includes Simba, our golden retriever and emotional support pet, who joins the well-being activities every week. It’s this combination of an active community and a caring team looking out for you that means no one at CityU goes through college alone.
A network that stays with you beyond college
Many CityU residents go on to become business partners, coworkers or lifelong friends. The network you build here is one of the most valuable investments of your college years. At CityU, community isn’t an extra. It’s the heart of everything.
